[DES] Interpretation
✍︎ Visual experimenting   ✐ Photoshop, Illustrator, 3DS Max, InDesign
[DES] Interpretation is a project developed in the academic context that was co-created with fellow designer and friend Ilayda Dinc.

The main focus of the project was to increase the awareness of our tools of the trade as designers, broaden our workflow with new tools and approaches, and thus generate fresh new ideas. In simpler words, the goal has been to foster further experimentation in our Modus Operandi.

The specific approach we chose was to experiment with software that we were already acquainted with, namely Autodesk 3DS MAX for Ilayda and Adobe Photoshop in my case.

Through the misuse and exploration of unusual tools inside the programs, we created a series of new, fresh imagery and posters. The starting point for the remix process was a mixture of iconic and not-so-famous paintings since we also wanted to explore the dichotomies of such a task: art x design, modern x classic, remix x original, concrete x abstract, among others. After defining a set of initial ingredients we used certain remix recipes to create the final imagery.

Displayed below are some of the iterations, final images, posters, and process GIFs. Detailed documentation of the work is available as a presentation at the end of the page ⤵  as well.
